Jeremiah 33:6 Yet I will certainly bring health and healing to it and will indeed heal them. I will let them experience the abundance of peace and truth.
God is about to send Judah into Babylon for seventy years of exile. The people had done terrible things against God. They were defiant, disobedient, and rebellious. He sent prophets to warn them, but they ignored God’s warning. Many of the Jews were forced to leave their homeland and live as captives.
Our God is gracious and forgiving. In spite of all their failures, God is going to restore them. He’s going to give Jerusalem a thorough renovation. He will give them true healing, inside and out. He will make their life whole again and overflowing with blessings. They’ll live in an abundance of peace.
This Scripture is so encouraging. Have you been defiant, disobedient, and rebellious? Have you neglected to do what you should and done what you shouldn’t? You can be healed, inside and out, and be restored in your relationship with God. Turn back to Him (repent). The same God who restored Judah will restore you. You’re never too far away from God that He can’t reach out to you and put you back on the firm foundation of Jesus Christ.
Lord Jesus, thank You for freely giving Your sinless life so mankind can have everlasting life and peace with You. Help us to keep our eyes open and our thoughts pure as we look to You for guidance. Please put someone in our path today who we can share Your love with. In Your mighty and holy name we pray. Amen.
