Help McDowell County and Surrounding Areas Recover from Devastating Floods
Recently, McDowell County and surrounding areas in WV, experienced catastrophic flooding that has left our community in dire need. Homes have been destroyed, families displaced, and essential infrastructure severely damaged. The aftermath of this disaster is heart-wrenching, and we urgently need your help to rebuild and recover.
The Impact:
Displacement: Many families have lost their homes. Many of our beloved family and friends have homes filled with mud. Theyve lost all or most of all they owned.
Infrastructure Damage: Roads, bridges, and public facilities have been heavily damaged, making it difficult for emergency services to reach those in need. I saw road graders working on a couple hollers.
Economic Hardship: Local businesses have been devastated. Please pray they reopen and recover. We need these stores for all our basic needs.
Missing Persons: We currently do not have an exact number of people who are missing. There are ongoing efforts to get into hollers.

Right now, financial support is the most helpful. We’ve been planning the cleanup and trying to think near future. We want to plan for all the help we can give in a few weeks from now when people can start returning to their homes. Thankfully, everyone’s rushing in for immediate needs like food, water, and equipment to clear the roads and get in hollers. Our plan is for after the initial rush, so we don’t just get swamped with just food and water but can address other needs too. They will need stuff like blankets, clothes, etc.. we feel the need to be prepared for that and assist all we can.
