Ephesians 4:11 And He personally gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers,
For a church to be successful, effective, and for growth—obedience, holiness, and unity must be maintained. God, in His infinite wisdom, has made provision for His church by equipping people according to His good and perfect will. He gives His children different abilities or talents. No one should expect someone else to have all the responsibility for maintaining a healthy church.
Some people expect the pastor to be all things to everyone in the congregation. They cannot be and God did not design His church this way. Each person has a responsibility that is in line with their God-given talent. The next time you feel rejected because your pastor did not greet you, ask yourself, who else did. Was it someone in church that God had assigned that particular talent? Chances are the answer is yes! Thank them and appreciate them, they are fulfilling the role God has given them. Look inward to see what He is calling you to do instead of looking outward to see what others are, or are not, doing for you.
Father, Your love, grace, and mercy have no limit. You created humanity to be in a loving and intimate relationship with You and to use the talents You have given graciously us. Lord, help us to look for ways to edify, encourage, and enable others to grow into spiritual maturity. Thank You Father for being patient with Your children. You are our good, good Father! In Jesus’ loving and precious name we pray. Amen.
