A Season of Service, Community, and Blessings
Introduction
I will start writing a missions recap like this one. So many people, churches, and organizations came throughout the summer and we are very grateful. We want to start these recaps to keep everyone updated on what we are doing and to thank those that help make these things possible.
As summer winds down and the fall season begins, our mission has seen an incredible outpouring of support, service, and generosity from individuals, churches, and ministries. August and September were filled with heartwarming events and impactful outreach, and we’re excited to share some highlights from these busy months.
August Highlights
- Jesus Bingo with the Bouknights and their team: Our August kicked off with a joyful gathering for Jesus Bingo, hosted by the Bouknights and their awesome team. It was a wonderful time of fellowship, laughter, and sharing God’s love.
- Mission Building Improvements: Pleasant Dale Baptist Church stepped up in a big way, repairing the steps at our mission building. Their team also helped clean and organize the space, making it safer and more welcoming for everyone.
- Food Distribution: We continued our commitment to fighting hunger by serving many families through our regular food distribution. The smiles and gratitude from our community remind us why this work matters so much. The Bouknights and their team volunteered at the give out and purchased bread and cheese.
- Back-to-School Backpack Giveaway: Thanks to generous donations from Capers Chapel United Methodist Church and Bethlehem Baptist Church, we gave away 100 book bags filled with school supplies to children in need. And Smokey Bear came to see all the children and handed out goody bags. Seeing the excitement on their faces as they prepared for a new school year was truly priceless. We are praying for 200 next year!
- Comforters from I-77 Missions: We received a wonderful donation of comforters from I-77 Missions, ensuring that families in our community will stay warm and comfortable as the seasons change.
September Highlights
- Community Home Projects: Woodward Baptist Church visited and worked on several homes in our neighborhood, lending a hand with repairs and improvements that made a real difference for local families. They also brought food for the food pantry.
- Continued Food Distribution: Our regular food distribution continued, serving those in need and reinforcing our mission to support our neighbors. St. James donated money for food, and we gave each family Red Baron frozen pizzas.
- Downtown Iaeger Food Outreach: September brought a special opportunity to serve in downtown Iaeger, where Cedar Mountain Ministries partnered with us to bring in food and serve the community. Their generosity helped reach families in need.
- Kathie Aiken and some lovely ladies: These ladies from Baptists on Mission came and prayed with us. They also prayed for a woman in our community who has cancer. Amazing sisters in Christ.
New Church House Update
We are thrilled to share the progress on our New Church House project. Thanks to the dedication of Buck and Jack Adams, along with the help of many faithful partners, the building is now officially dried in. Everyone’s consistent efforts throughout the summer made this milestone possible. We are grateful to St. James Independent Church for their generosity in securing donated windows for the church house. We are grateful for everyone who have gave their time, talent, and funds toward this. These wonderful servants with good hearts have truly made a difference for our mission and the families we serve. I’ll do a separate post with more details on the progress of the new church.
Conclusion
We are deeply grateful for the partnerships and support we’ve received over the summer. Every act of service, every donation, and every moment spent in fellowship has helped strengthen our community and spread hope. Thank you to everyone who contributed their time, resources, and love—we look forward to continuing this important work together in the months ahead!
